Winchester Speedway, June 17 Race Results
David Jackson pushed the Open Wheel Track record(15.54 / Alan Holmes) during time trials with a lap of 15.65 then proceeded to lead all 25 laps in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Modified Madness $1,000 Open Wheel special.
While the former Open Wheel champion(2003) never was out of the lead he had to withstand a fast closing Henry Hanger in the closing laps to hold onto the victory. The sixth starting Hanger actually fell back in the early laps he was on the charge the final dozen circuits and made a thrilling finish out of the Open Wheel finale.
Steve Garner had a fine run to take third spot while Shane Henley was a very close fourth. Ron Bailey had his finest effort of the season to nab a Top 5 finish.
