SPRING THAW 100 HEAT RACE RESULTS
38 Supers showed up and put on a decent enough show in the heat races tonight.
Heat 1: Todd Morrow won the pole for the night at a 12.47, barely edging Black Sunshine. Morrow and Vic Hill started on the front row. They tried two times and then moved DWB and Mike Smith to the front row to try. Another failed start and they reverted back to the original starting lineup but single file this time. Hill waited patiently and was able to sneak around Morrow near the halfway point. Morrow finished 2nd, DWB 3rd, and suprisingly Brett Miller came home in 4th to make the field.
Heat 2: Bloomquist and Skip Arp shared the front row in this heat. Bloomquist darted out to an early lead with Steve Smith getting around Arp for 2nd as a caution flew. They restarted again and Arp was all over Bloomquist for a couple of laps and was able to get a nose by him and nearly passed Bloomquist. Sunshine fought back and held Skipper off going into T3. Skip had to back out of the gas a bit and Steve Smith fired a slider on Arp. Bloomquist held Smith off to take the win with Arp in 3rd.
Heat 3: Scott Sexton dominated heat 3 and looked real good in doing so. Tommy Kerr got 2nd and Billy Ogle Jr grabbed 3rd.
Heat 4: A good battle in heat 4 with Mike Marlar and Jimmy Owens. Marlar was able to get an early lead and led quite a few laps before Owens worked him over and passed him low in the middle of one and two. Marlar was able to hold onto second as both checked out on the rest of the field. Kerry Jones was third and Dale Ball fourth.
