Winchester(TN) Speedway, June 10 Results
Two thousand four track champion, Randy Gifford had an absolutely flawless night by setting fast time in the late model division, winning his two barrel late model heat then capturing both main events. Gifford’s perfect night added his mane to a list of seven different racers who have won a Late Model feature during the 2006 racing season.
Three time winner Shannon Davis kept the pressure on Gifford but in the end settled for a runner-up finish. Defending champion David Brannon was third with David Jackson, Jerry Ashley and Bruce Williams fourth through sixth.

2003 Open Wheel champion David Jackson won his heat race and withstood serious challenges from Henry Hanger to nab his second open wheel victory of the year while Shannon Davis slipped by a stubborn and fast Colt Russell in the waning laps to capture a third place finish. Steve Garner recovered from a spin in the heat race to come from the rear to garner fifth place.

Perfection was the order of the night for Randy Gifford as the former Champion from Lincoln County would settle for nothing less than first place in all his pursuits Saturday night by winning heat two of the 2-barrel Late Model division then taking the measure of former winners Larry DeLong, Terry Fowler and Mark Haddon. Randy Judge rounded out the Top 5.

Jason is on a roll now and grabbed his second win in three weeks, besting defending champion Johnny Payne and Larry DeLong in the main event. Last week’s winner Brian Hudson was fourth with David Russell in fifth.

In the 60’s there was a television show called the Untouchables then Kevin Costner played Elliott Ness in the 80’s movie of the same name well now it’s John Smartt in the 2006 version of the "Untouchable’s’ as John captured his seventh win of the year over Jason Todd and Jeremy Floyd. Jim Summers was fourth while Jim Haney captured a top five finish. Joe Burns and Smartt were the heat race winners.

Freddie Prosser Jr. won the Modified Mini feature along with the 600cc Sportsman Mini main while Michael Wood nabbed his first 750cc Sportsman Mini main of the year. Angie Davidson captured the Powder Puff event when a last lap crash took last week’s 750 cc winner Susan Garner and Tonya Thompson out.
