Southern Nationals Series promoter Ray Cook ( former Shrine 100 winner)
Ray would like to announce the schedule, point fund, purse, and other vital
information for the 2006 version of the exciting Dirt Late Model series.
The second year series will drop the green flag for the first time on July
10 at the Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia.
The series, which was won in its inaugural year by Jeff Cooke, will culminate at the ultra-quick Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee on July 22. In all, the Southern Nationals Series will feature ten events in only thirteen days.
The entire schedule lines up as follows:

The eight events that pay $3,500 to the winner will feature a $16,560 total

Those events will pay $350 to the driver that finishes in the twenty-fourth and final position.
The two $5,300 to win events at GAFFNEY and Tazewell will pay $500 to start and will feature a $22,450 purse.
The series will also pay a generous point fund following the finale at Tazewell.
The winner of the 2006 Southern Nationals Series will receive $5,000 in
cash plus a myriad of product awards.

I am about a month later than I wanted to be in announcing the schedule,
but I wanted to make sure everything was concrete, commented promoter and fellow Dirt Late Model racer Ray Cook today.
I think the schedule took shape nicely and we are offering some pretty good money in the thirteen day stretch.
There are a bunch of sponsors that are coming on board and providing cash and product awards again this year and that will all be announced when everything is finalized.
